Critics & Reviews
ALE KINO+
The Heat fills the viewer with uncertainty and unease, underlined by a voyeuristic camera. An innocent outlook on life stands in contrast to the darkness of human nature. Subtle performances combined with intimate camerwork is undoubtedly the strength of this story.
♦
JURY STATEMENT / FESANCOR INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF SHORT FILMS
For the creation of an engrossing drama built upon an interesting narrative on the meaning of social gender roles. A dramatic turn of events captivates the viewers and prevents them from distancing themselves or becoming indifferent to the theme of the human condition, which is the driving force behind the protagonists and their actions.
♦

♦
JURY STATEMENT / LA GUARIMBA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
Kruhlik’s film brings his characters on a decline from idyllic love into human cruelty. The spectator is forced to become complicit in this tragic and magnificent production.
♦
JURY STATEMENT / FESTIVAL INTERNAZIONALE DEL CINEMA POVERO
Kruhlik combines an excellent directing of the actors with a perfect use of the cinematographic paces. Solid, in the radical mood swing, he realises a strong impact, disturbing short film. A movie on cruelty, that courageously chooses not to grant any redeeming way out to the audience.
♦
JURY STATEMENT / TOLFA SHORT FILM FESTIVAL
The classic psychological horror with a small number of words and a large portion of suspense, which begins with an innocent sequence: the lovers on the shore of a lake. Girl goes into the forest and do not come back, and we participate in experiences of the boy: fear, violence and rape given by the relentless stalker – we do not know if in the real world, or only in the imagination.
♦
JURY STATEMENT / KINOFEST IDFF
For the powerful impact of images on us, inviting us to meditate at the perversity of evil and the vulnerability of innocence.
♦
JURY STATEMENT / UP AND COMING IFF
Well crafted, mature direction, and suspenseful. The audience was taken on a disturbing journey that grasped the shifting power dynamics of victim and aggressor. What seemed like a romantic afternoon turned into a nightmare for a young man.

KAROLINA STANKIEWICZ / STOPKLATKA.PL
Bartosz Kruhlik’s film is a strong cinema moving controversial topics and causing divergent emotions. Certainly not will appeal to everyone. Director’s courage in the selection of the topic and way of presenting deserve attention. Kruhlik very efficiently uses conventions genres, suddenly passing from romance to thriller, which give you a faster heartbeat. Using modest means stabs the viewer in the seat and twenty-minute projection makes that hairs stand on end long after the screening. Such an effect would not be able him to achieve, if not great creations by Aleksander Sosinski as victim, and Rafal Fudalej as executioners who did not know how handle the situation, which he himself provoked – evil which he inflicts, surpasses even his
